REPLACED WITH History of Ocean Isle Beach from 10,000 BC to Today

Just in time, Dr. Fred David will present History of Ocean Isle Beach:  From 10,000 BC to Today.  He will talk about his new CD, The History of Ocean Isle Beach Driving Tour and his upcoming book about Ocean Isle’s history.   Learn true stories about men and women who lived at Ocean Isle Beach thousands of years ago.  Dr. David will also talk about Indians, explorers, pioneers, pirates, shipwrecks, plane crashes, and hurricanes on Ocean Isle.  Find out about other area information such as the dance halls, Coast Guard Station, pavilion, airplane landing strip, and the ferry.  Hear more true stories about cemeteries, sailing vessels, tombs, churches, and the spot where George Washington once stood.  He will also talk about plantation owners, stagecoaches, dueling matches, yellow fever, salt mills, rice farming, liquor smuggling, circuit rider preachers and Revolutionary War and Civil War heroes from this area.

Dr. David is a permanent resident of Ocean Isle Beach.  His family has lived within 45 miles of Ocean Isle Beach for 70 years.  He is Professor of Management at Francis Marion University and a textbook author.  He was captain of the FOLLOW ME fishing charter boat at Ocean Isle for sixteen years and has scuba dived most of the shipwrecks off Ocean Isle Beach.  He reads and writes about history.
